Melanie Jennings

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Melanie spent many years in Kingston, Ontario before she completed her Veterinary Technician Diploma from Seneca College in King City in 2007. She has worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for over 10 years and as practice manager at different veterinary hospitals throughout Toronto for another 10 years. Melanie enjoys contributing to strengthening the human animal bond, staying current with advancing medical knowledge and applications, and building a strong presence in the community, and understands the importance of keeping the workplace progressive and fun in an industry that is not always puppies and kittens. 

Animal welfare and rehabilitation are two of Melanie’s many passions. She has travelled and volunteered as an RVT across the globe, in the community program C.L.A.W (Community Led Animal Welfare) in South Africa, as well as with ARCAS (Wildlife Rescue, Rehab and Release Centre) in Petén, Guatemala, working hands on with not only cats and dogs, but also a wide variety of wildlife, including spider monkeys, jaguars, lions, deer, and parrots. 

Melanie has two cats, Jitters and Gandalf, and outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their two young daughters.
